Bill of Rights

Bill of Rights

On September 25, 1789, the First Congress of the United States proposed 12 amendments to the Constitution. Ten of the 12 were ratified by three-fourths of the state legislatures on December 15, 1791. The ratified Articles (Articles 3Ð12) constitute the first 10 amendments of the Constitution, or the U.S. Bill of Rights. In 1992, 203 years after it was proposed, Article 2 was ratified as the 27th Amendment to the Constitution. Article 1 was never ratified. The original Bill of Rights is officially the 1789 Joint Resolution of Congress proposing the amendments. It is on display in the Rotunda at the National Archives Museum. The National Archives Store in its mission to generate financial and creative support for National Archives exhibitions, public programs, and educational initiatives, is delighted to offer you a varied line of Bill of Rights gift items for of all ages.
Bobbleheads

Bobbleheads

Bobblehead dolls originated in ancient China. Over centuries their evolution has been influenced by different cultures and fashions of the day. In the United States, bobblehead dolls gained popularity in the 1920s with the introduction of a New York Knicks baseball player collectors item. Advances in construction techniques and materials and the use of plastic instead of ceramic and other fragile substances has meant that current day bobbleheads may be mass produced as a durable collectible item. We are pleased to offer a selection of fun bobblehead dolls for your enjoyment.
