• Richard Nixon was the 37th president of the United States, serving from 1969 until his resignation in 1974. His presidency involved the end of the Vietnam War, the creation of the Environmental Protection Agency, détente with China and the Soviet Union, and the Apollo 11 moon landing. Following the Watergate scandal, Nixon resigned from office and left behind a deep mistrust for the federal government. 

Since George Washington took the mantle as our first President in 1789, a total of 45 men have served in 47 presidencies. Alongside the President, a total of 49 men and 1 woman have served as the Vice President.
