The Susan B. Anthony dollar was a United States one-dollar coin minted from 1979 to 1981, and again in 1999. The coin shows Anthony’s profile on the obverse, while the reverse depicts an eagle with wings outstretched. Honoring a pioneer of the women’s rights movement, this was the first coin to portray a real woman on a United States circulating coin (as opposed to the mystical figure of Lady Liberty).
