  • Our unique silver necklace with epoxy charm containing the portrait of an American coal miner makes a striking piece of jewelry that celebrates the hard work of miners and their special place in history. With a lava stone bead that looks like a tiny piece of coal, we think it makes a wonderful tribute and gift for history buffs.

  • In 1946, President Truman ordered the seizure of coal mines to end a strike. Part of the settlement with the United Mine Workers Union was an agreement to survey the health and safety of the miners' working and living conditions. Russell Lee was contracted to document the study with photographs. The powerful images were published in 1947.
