  • The air is electric with patriotic fervor as the vibrant scene unfolds at the foot of the majestic National Archives in Washington, D.C. It's the 4th of July, and the sun hits the patriotic, U.S. flag-inspired banners between the columns of the portico.  A warm, golden hue lies upon the fife and drum corps, about to perform historic tunes in honor of Independence Day and those who came before us to make the celebration possible. The scene on our tea towel captures a performance that resonates with the heartbeat of America's history. It will happily help you to take care of drying dishes, but this commemorative piece will also look like a great piece of art when stretched over wood.

  • Drafted by 33 year old Thomas Jefferson between June 11 and June 28, 1776, the Declaration of Independence is the nation's most cherished symbol of liberty. It was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, and announced that the 13 American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as independent states and no longer a part of the British Empire. Instead, they formed a union that would become a new nation - the United States of America.
